The invention concerns EF-chiral calcium-binding protein 62 containing ATP/GTP binding structural domain and polynucleotide encoding it. The invention also concerns the process of producing the polypeptide by recombinant DNA technique. The methods for treating many diseases e.g. malignant tumor, hemopathy, infection of HIV, immunological diseases and a variety of inflammation utilizing the polypeptide are disclosed. The invention disloses the antagonist against the polypeptide and therapeutics thereof. The invention also discloses the uses of the polynucleotide, which encodes EF-chiral calcium-binding protin 62 containing ATP/GTP binding structural domain.
