<p>A hanger mechanism for well tubulars includes a cylindrical tube (10) assembled with a hydraulic ram (40) to which is attached a solid swedge (62). An inner boss (18) is provided about the interior of the cylindrical tube (10) through an axial section of the length thereof. The swedge (62) interferes with the inner boss (18) to inelastically expand the cylindrical tube (10) at that point. An outer boss (26) may extend about the same area so as to be driven out and into interfering contact with an outer tubular within the well. The outer boss (26) may have a concentrically continuous surface with or without seals (34, 36) located in grooves (32). Alternatively, axial grooves (38) may extend through the outer boss (26) so as to provide cementing circulation outwardly of the tubular string. The swedge (62) may include a body (72) with a cylindrical sleeve (74) threaded thereto. The body (72) fits within the un-swedged inner boss (18) while the sleeve (74) provides swedging engagement.</p> |
