The device has a timing adjusting element actuated via oil supply lines of feed pipes in the camshaft bearing point, and oil feed grooves in the camshaft. An axial camshaft bearing (41) is located between the oil feed grooves (30,32). The groove (44) to guide the axial bearing the bearing point (24) is partially wider than the bearing web (42) it holds, so that the axial bearing groove acts as pressure oil feed groove. The bearing point is formed by an upper and a lower bearing shell (24a,b).
