PURPOSE: A method for settling the price of goods using a mobile terminal is provided to conveniently pay the price for goods transactions, without the necessity of using cash. CONSTITUTION: In case that a user purchases goods at a specific store and pays the price for goods, an infrared transmit-receive communication terminal installed in the store transmits the data of the goods price to an infrared transceiver part. The infrared transceiver part converts the data into an infrared signal and transmits the signal to the user's portable phone by wireless(S10). The portable phone, receiving the infrared signal, restores it into the original data. An MSM(Mobile Station Modem) installed in the portable phone outputs a password input request message with the restored goods price on an LCD(S11). If the user inputs the password after judging that the price is reasonable, the MSM transmits approval data, comprised of the password, the MIN(Mobile Identification Number) and the portable phone's ESN(Electronic Serial Number), to an infrared port. The infrared port converts the received approval data into an infrared signal and transmits the converted signal to the infrared transmit-receive communication terminal(S12). At the same time, the MSM makes settlement approval request data, composed of the password, the MIN, the ESN and the price of goods, in the form of a short message in order to request the settlement of the goods price(S20). The MSM transmits the short message to a radio transmitting part so that the message can be transferred to a related goods settlement server through a CDMA base station(S21).
