PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove chips from an entire workpiece in a machining part and an entire chuck. SOLUTION: This chip washing method includes the step of washing the workpiece 8 with a wash solution through the rotation of a workpiece shaft 3 such that the wash solution is sprayed to the entire workpiece 8 while the workpiece 8 faces a wash solution nozzle 21 which ejects the wash solution, the step of washing the workpiece 8 with air through the rotation of the workpiece shaft 3 such that the air is sprayed to the entire workpiece 8 while the workpiece 8 faces an air nozzle 22 which ejects air, the step of washing the inside of the chuck 9 with the wash solution by spraying the wash solution to the chuck 9 while rotating the workpiece shaft 3, with the chuck 9 facing the wash solution nozzle 21 after the workpiece has been removed from the chuck 9, and the step of washing the inside of the chuck with air by spraying the air to the chuck 9 while rotating the shaft 3, with the chuck 9 facing the air nozzle 22.
