PURPOSE: A sodium discharge lamp is provided to turn on a road lamp consuming high voltage at the turn-on without a ballast stabilizer, use a stabilizer for mercury lamp and drive the lamp with an instantaneous heat without generating high frequency. CONSTITUTION: In the sodium discharge, a supporting device(120) is formed within a distance of the discharge tube(51) on one side of the electrodes(54,54a). A heating driver(110) penetrating the supporting device(120) connected to the electrodes(54,54a) close the circuit between the two electrodes(54,54a) on the starting and generates high heat around the discharge tube and reduces the heat after the temperature is above a certain level. A supporting element(150) supports the discharge tube(51) and is connected between the supporting rods(59) providing voltage for tube bushings(55) on the electrodes.
