A method for the treatment of vapors released from the electrochemical baths for the treatment of metal pieces consists of aspirating the vapors (1) above the tanks (2) containing the baths and conveying them through ducts. The method is characterized in that it consists of atomizing, inside the conveying ducts (4), a liquid for putting into solution the aqueous solution formed by the vapors circulating in the ducts (4) and directing the liquid charged with the aqueous solution towards a purifying station. An Independent claim is included for an installation for the treatment of vapors by this method.
