HYDROGEN VISUALIZING AGENT AND METHOD AND MATERIAL FOR VISUALIZING OCCLUDED HYDROGEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen visualizing agent capable of simply visualizing hydrogen occluded by a material, a hydrogen visualizing method and a visualizing method for occluded hydrogen. SOLUTION: A hydrogen visualizing agent is supplied to the surface of a material to form hydrogen diffused from the interior of the material as iodine to visualize the same and comprises a composition which contains ions containing iodine in an oxidized state of pentavalence or more and/or starch as essensial components. In a visualizing method for occluded hydrogen, hydrogen diffused from the interior of a material to the surface thereof and ions containing iodine contained in the hydrogen visualizing agent in an oxidized state of pentavalency or more are reacted to develop a color by formed iodine or iodine-starch reaction to visualize hydrogen.
