A cosmetic composition for artificial suntanning containing at least an active auto-tanning compound and at least one naphthalenic compound with an excited triplet energy level of 56-61 kcal/mol. Independent claims are included for a cosmetic treatment procedure for artificial tanning comprising applying the above composition.
