The device, used in water treatment plant tank, consists of an air lift pump with its suction head immersed in the tank and resting above the precipitated sludge; the suction head is surrounded with pressurised water nozzles which fluidise the sludge underneath the suction head. Specifically, the suction head has projections which rest upon the sludge surface, and a float to buoy it; buoyancy may be varied to adjust the sludge concentration pumped. High concentration of sludge in the pumped mixture are chieved. |
