PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivative. SOLUTION: This method for producing an optically active cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivative expressed by formula (4) comprises reacting an olefin represented by the general formula (2) with a diazoacetate ester represented by the general formula (3), N2CHCOOR19 in the presence of an optically active substance of benzothiophene and a copper salt or a transition metal salt.
