PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method related to the generation of a non- realistic effect such as comic contour line in a three-dimensional video graphics system. SOLUTION: Pixels positioned at the edge of an object are found while using the value of depth Z and a border color is selectively blended with these pixels and displayed. In the case of finding the edge of the object, the depth value of a certain pixel is compared with the depth values of peripheral pixels. On the basis of this distance value, a desired borderline color is blended with the color value of this pixel. For example, this distance value is used for the operating of the alpha value of a pixel and used later for the controlling of the quantity of the borderline color blended with the pixel color. In the other example, the part of the object having an identification value is stored in a frame buffer for storing the ordinary alpha value. This identification value is used for the identifying of the division of the part of the object in order to apply the borderline color. |
