PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash discharge lamp that causes little sputtering of the emitter material, when producing electrodes and using the lamp, and that can withstand a high operating voltage and extremely frequent discharges such as about 1,500 V and 2 million shots by consolidating fixation of the electrode and its stem. SOLUTION: This flash discharge lamp with electrodes made by sintering high melting point metal material powder is featured in that the electrode is equipped with a dual-wall structure, its inner layer is a body sintered from mixed powders of the high melting point metal material and nickel, and its outer layer is a body sintered from mixed powders of the above-mentioned high melting point metal material and a barium oxide type emitter material.
