The thermostatically controlled heating valve (1) has the position of the valve stage varied to maintain a flow condition by expansion and contraction of a thermostat element (2) that is coupled by a spindle (4). The set point can be changed by a motor (26) and ring gear (22) actuator. The gear rotates a threaded sleeve (11) to adjust the axial position of the spindle. The actuator module (25) is produced as a separate unit that has a locating surface (15) and an opening (32) to receive the gear.
