PURPOSE: An Etehernet repeating circuit is provided to access a fast Ethernet logic by using a conventional 10 Mbps MAC(Media Access Control) interface so that it can enhance a transmission speed with a low cost in the case that many LAN ports are not needed in home or small offices. CONSTITUTION: The circuit comprises an MAC(Media Access Control, 20), a PLD(Programmable Logic Device, 30), a RAM(40), a 2 port bridge controller(50), fast Ethernet repeaters(60-1, 60-n), transformers(70-1, 70-n) and RJ45 modular jacks(80-1, 80-n). The MAC(20) transmits the data among the PLD(30) and an upper level device. The 2 port bridge controller(50) converts 10 Mbps data into 100 Mbps data or vice versa to let the 10 Mbps terminal communicate with 100 Mbps terminal. The repeaters(60-1, 60-n) senses the data speed by an auto sensing function, and processes the data according to the data speed. The repeaters(60-1, 60-n) includes a 10 Mbps interactive backplane interface and a 100 Mbps interactive backplane interface to make internal connection.
