PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding catheter and a spring guide wire showing an improved handleability and safety, wherein the bore diameter is enlarged and the bore sliding property is improved to allow a precise and safe arrival at the target position and an easy insertion and operation of a device. SOLUTION: Hyaluron, which is a biopolymer widely distributed inside a human body, is fixed via covalent bonds onto the inner and outer surfaces 2 and 6 of a thermoplastic resin cylinder comprising a small-gage metal wire braid 4 positioned between thermoplastic resins 3 and 5 or onto the surface of a metal coil spring which consists a spring guide wire. This ensures a large bore diameter, improves the lubricating property at manipulation and yields a guiding catheter 1 or a spring guide wire having an excellent biocompatibility and an improved handleability and safety. |
