PURPOSE: A reduction gear casing for a traction machine and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the time for manufacturing cover member coupling parts and easily assemble and disassemble the cover member coupling parts by forming shaft holes only on one side wall of the casing. CONSTITUTION: A reduction gear casing for a traction machine includes a lower casing(21) forming a receiving space to receive at least one pair of reduction gears(16a-16d) interposed between each rotary shaft(13,14) of a driving motor and a traction sheave(11) disposed to be parallel with each other, many lower partial shaft holes(26a-26c) on a partial arc depressed downward from the upper surface to receivably support the rotary shafts partially, and lower partial axis-receiving parts(29a-29c) on the partial arc opened to the lower partial shaft holes on the opposite wall along the axial direction of each rotary shaft to partially receive the end part of each rotary shaft; and an upper casing coupled with the upper part of the lower casing on the other side of each rotary shaft along the vertical direction and having upper partial shaft holes and upper partial axis-receiving parts corresponding to the lower partial shaft holes and the lower partial axis-receiving parts to receivably support each rotary shaft with the assistance of the lower casing.
