PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic brush developing device capable of effectively eliminating trouble such as toner splashing, fogging or toner scattering caused by reversely electrified toner or paper powder. SOLUTION: This magnetic brush developing device is composed of a developing housing incorporating a developer carrying sleeve arranged to face to the surface of a photoreceptor drum. In the device, an electrostatic image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor drum is developed carrying the electrified toner with which the developing housing is filled to an area facing to the surface of the photoreceptor drum in the shape of a magnetic brush by the developer carrying sleeve. The device is provided with a reversely electrified toner collecting roller consisting of a conductive roller held at potential whose polarity is the same as the electrified polarity of the toner inside the developing housing.
