<p>An inkjet type recording device and method of supplying ink to a sub-tank by the same device, and method of checking the amount of ink supplied to the sub-tank by the same device, wherein the amount of ink to be supplied from a main tank to a sub-tank can be properly controlled. The inkjet type recording device comprises a recording head mounted on a carriage and adapted to be moved to and fro widthwise of the recording paper, and a sub-tank mounted on the carriage together with the recording head, and receiving an ink supply from a main tank through an ink supply passageway and feeding ink to the recording head, wherein the recording device includes an ink-amount detecting means for detecting the amount of ink stored in the sub-tank, and an ink supply control means which controls the supply of ink from the main tank to the sub-tank according to the result of detection of the ink-amount by the ink-amount detecting means.</p> |
