An educational kit comprised of a novel polypeptide, alpha helical protein-3 4 (Zalpha34), polynucleotides that encode Zalpha34 and antibodies to Zalpha34. The present invention also relates to polynucleotide and polypeptide molecul es for Zalpha34. The polypeptides, and nucleotides encoding them, are hormonal and may be used to promote spermatogenesis. The present invention also includes antibodies to the Zalpha34 polypeptides, which can be used to inhib it spermatogenesis.
