PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper towel holder for a counter top. SOLUTION: A paper towel holder (10) for a counter top has a base (18), a fixed rod (20) extending upward from the base and a stabilization extending segment (26) extending upward form the base at a position spaced apart in a radial direction from the fixed rod. The stabilization extending segment is comprised of a handle segment (28) and a pressing arm (32) positioned to be spaced apart from the handle segment in a radial outward direction. The pressing arm is resilient and has a free end abutted against a roll for a paper towel fixed to the fixed rod. The handle is held with one hand to enable an entire paper towel holder to be supported in such a way that it may not be moved when a free state paper towel is pulled out of the roll by the other hand. It is preferable that the pressing arm is pressed with a thumb of the hand holding the paper towel holder to push its free end against the roll. In this way, the free end prevents the roll from being rotated more, helps break the cutting line and then the towel is gradually fed out.
