PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and sturdy laser probe to solve problems in a conventional laser probe that a metal protective tube cannot be provided by such reasons that the length thereof cannot be adjusted and it can not cope with the reduction in length of an optical fiber during repairs, the leakage of the laser beam cannot be prevented when the optical is broken, to adversely affect persons and articles and a laser device using the laser probe. SOLUTION: The metal protective tube 4 which can be partly opened, easily cut using a cutting means, and adjust the length thereof is provided on an outer circumferential part of the optical fiber 2 for laser beam transmission. Repair works accompanied by the reduction in length of the fiber can be realized thereby with the metal protective tube 4 provided thereon. The leakage of the laser beam when the optical fiber is broken is shielded by the protective tube, and prevented thereby.
