<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the height between a vessel for containing a discharged material to be treated and a furnace hearth by alternately discharging the material to be treated to both sides of the moving direction of the furnace hearth with a simple structure using a screw feeder, in a moving hearth furnace used in the case of reducing, etc., iron ore and metal-containing waste material, etc., such as iron oxide, produced in the iron works. SOLUTION: In a device for discharging the bulky material to be heated, laid and transported on the furnace hearth in the moving hearth furnace from the furnace hearth by the screw feeder orthogonally arranged to the moving direction of the furnace hearth, a guide having an arched concave surface is disposed so as to approach the rear side of the screw feeder and discharging outers are arranged at the lower side of the screw feeder located at both sides of the width direction of the furnace hearth so that the revolution of the screw feeder can be rotated clockwise and counter clockwise.
