PURPOSE: A flush toilet having an opening/closing type trap structure is provided to save the water used in a toilet for sanitation by altering the trap structure of a flush toilet. CONSTITUTION: A flush toilet having an opening/closing type trap structure comprises the steps of connecting a trap part removed inside a flush toilet with rubber tubes(T1,T2,T3) to form a steep slope, and installing an opening/closing device(B) fixed to a shaft for rotary reciprocating motion to the outside of the rubber tubes; if the opening/closing device forms a high head parallel to the rubber tubes and rotates, the inside of the rubber tubes is opened for passing fluid easily, and if the opening/closing device moves perpendicularly to the rubber tubes, the rubber tubes become narrower not to pass a fluid to the inside and residual water is gathered to form a trap on the lower part of a flush toilet.
