PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device with which any problem does not occur even when paper size is erroneously set in a manual paper inserting part nor jamming is caused due to the setting error of the paper size. SOLUTION: A paper presence/absence detecting sensor 4 is provided at a position longer than a distance from an exposing position 15 to the position of a transfer roller 7 by 10 mm in an image forming part. When the paper presence/absence detecting sensor 4 detects the absence of paper at a position shorter than the length of paper corresponding to the paper size recognized at the time of paper feeding operation, the length of the paper is calculated, the exposure time in the image forming part is shortened and the image forming operation is continued until ejecting the paper. Namely, even when the paper is shorter than the recognized paper size, it is not handles as jamming by continuing image formation and the dirt of the transfer roller is prevented as well. |
