PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate multicarrier modulation and guard interval inserting processing in the case of preparation, which requires huge operation and carrier patterns, of a multicarrier-modulated time base signal. SOLUTION: In the transmitter using a multicarrier modulating system, which has n sets of partial IFFT parts for dividing data assigned to all carriers in one symbol into n sets and generating the added results of carrier time base waveforms respectively modulated by the correspondent data of the respective divided sets, at least one set of the partial IFFT parts generates only the time base waveform for a prescribed period during one symbol period and repeatedly outputs the time base waveform for the prescribed period, and the time base waveform outputs of n systems from the n sets of partial IFFT parts are merged to one system so that the time base waveform determined by all the carriers can be generated.
