The upper chord profile (1) for a tipper truck is an extruded light metal profile, with a lateral strut (6) towards the center plane of the vehicle. It has a vertical member (5) with a transit at the under side (9). The upper side (10) is parallel to the under side (9) at the center zone (11) of the supporting vertical member (5), and then has an angled surface (12) which tapers towards the under side (9). A second and opposing lateral strut (7) has parallel upper and lower sides (13,14), where the upper side (13) is flush with the upper side (10) of the section of the first strap (6) near the vertical support (5).
