PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost apparatus and method for burning fuel for a cement rotary kiln, without requiring a cooling mean for an assistant fuel burner, capable of being readily fixed and without requiring the space for a fixing means. SOLUTION: This apparatus for burning the fuel for the cement rotary kiln has a main fuel burner 4, an assistant fuel burner 7a parallel thereto, an assistant fuel-feeding means 11 connected to the burner 7a, and an air-feeding means 10 for transporting an assistant fuel, and the assistant fuel burner 7a is mounted on and fixed to the upper surface side of the main fuel burner 4.
