The subject of the invention is submergeable structures which can form artificial reefs. Such a structure is formed from filamentary elements - which are capable of being opened out into suitable volumes, and from connecting elements - ensuring the retention and the rigidity of the said structure. Application to the formation of artificial reefs, to the fitting-out of aquatic sites, to the protection of surface and submerged zones, especially as a breakwater or anti-swell system. <IMAGE>
