PRODUCTION OF EXTRACT OF AGARICUS MUSHROOM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the efficient production of safe agaricus mushroom extract having high antinumor activity from agaricus mushroom and provide a composition containing the extract and useful for industrial use. SOLUTION: The tissue of agaricus mushroom is disintedgrated and extraction-treated with an aqueous solvent such as water prefearbly under 1-5 atm at 101-150 deg.C. The obtained extract is fractionated with 50% ethanol and the precipitate is collected to obtain the objective agaricus mushroom extract. A pharmaceutical composition or a food composition is produced by formulating the former extract or the objective agaricus mushrom extract.
