PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin protecting cosmetic having excellent spread and feeling in use, improved stickiness, excellent persistence of skin protecting effect and quick drying properties. SOLUTION: This skin protecting cosmetic comprises 1-20 wt.% based on the whole amount of the cosmetic of a nonvolatile silicone oil having a film- forming ability, a fatty acid alkyl ester and a polyhydric alcohol in the formulation ratio of the nonvolatile silicone oil having the film-forming ability to the fatty acid alkyl ester of 5:1 to 1:5 by weight and, if required, further hydrophobized powder.
