PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain hot rolled wire rods and steel wires excellent in fatigue properties and used for reinforcing rubber tires of trucks, buses, passenger automobiles, etc. SOLUTION: The hot rolled wire rods or steel wires excellent in fatigue properties consist of 0.9-1.10 wt.% of C, <=0.4 wt.%, of Si, <=0.5 wt. % of Mn, 0.10-0.30 wt.% of Cr, 0.10-0.80 wt.% of Cu and the rest of iron and inescapable impurities and contain 0.003 wt.% of inescapably contaminated Al. Further, one or two species of 0.10-0.30 wt.% of Cr, 0.10-1.00 wt.%, of Ni can be added. |
