PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is manufactured at a lower manufacturing cost by the production process simpler than heretofore. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has a first substrate, a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate has plural wall-like structures on the surface on a liquid crystal side. The plural wall-like structures have the plural first wall-like structures extending in a first direction an the plural second wall-like structures extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction. The plural second wall-like structures are formed on the plural first walllike structures in intersection regions intersecting with the plural first wall- like structures and the thickness of the liquid crystal layer is regulated in the intersection regions. |
