PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size, weight and cost of a power conversion circuit by decreasing the number of components. SOLUTION: In the power conversion circuit for converting AC power into DC power and inverting DC power into AC power by connecting a rectifier circuit consisting of diodes 21-24 and a full-bridge circuit consisting of a coil 2 and switching elements 11-14 in cascade with an AC power supply 1, a series circuit of a capacitor 4 and a switching element 15 is connected between the DC terminals of the full-bridge circuit, and switching elements of one upper and lower arms in full-bridge arrangement, e.g. 11 and 12 or 13 and 15, are controlled while providing a period when they are turned on simultaneously.
