PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of structural parts. SOLUTION: A transparant electrode 4 and an alignment layer 25 are successively laminated on a glass substrate 2, while a transparent electrode 8 and an alignment layer 26 are successively laminated on a glass substrate 6. The glass substrate 2 and the glass substrate 6 are disposed facing each other through a guest-host liquid crystal. The guest-host liquid crystal consists of a dichroic dye 10 and a nematic liquid crystal 11. A chiral additive is added so as to helically align the vertically aligned guest-host liquid crystal by applying a voltage. |
