The lock mechanism contained in the lower shell of the luggage comprises a tipping locking hook which engages a strike plate (4) mounted in the luggage upper shell is returned to its opening position by a spring (8). The hook is controlled by a button (6) which is pushed into its closing position by a second spring (10). The mechanism enables the luggage to be fastened by simple pressure on the lower shell.
