<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light switch by which high-speed switching can be performed and missing bit of input signals is not generated during switching, and to obtain a method for driving a semiconductor laser by which polarized light can be selected. SOLUTION: This light switch can branch the path of output light corresponding to input light by controlling signals from outside, with regard to the input light. It makes the polarized light of the output light to switch between a first state and a second state by control signals, branches the path according to the polarization of the output light, and has an absorption control means for controlling the absorption of the input light.</p> |
