The invented sewing machine cam, particularly a buttonhole machine cam with chain stitch serves for controlling transverse motion of a table and comprises a cam holder, whereby non the cam holder there are arranged at least three cam disks (1, 2, 3), from which each has on its circumference a portion of the table transverse motion cam path, and at least two cam disks (2, 3) are rotatably adjustable.
