PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural antioxidant and a natural active-oxygen eliminator both of which are excellent in antioxidant action and active-oxygen- eilminating action, are highly safe for human bodies, and can be compounded into cosmetics, drugs, quasi-drugs, food, and various feed. SOLUTION: An antioxidant and an active-oxygen eliminator are provided both of which contain, as the effective component, an extract of a plant with a scientific name: Piper betle L. (indonesian name: Daun Sirih). An oral composition containing the antioxidant or active-oxygen eliminator is also provided. |
