PURPOSE: A method for displaying the state of a reserved trunk in a switching system is provided so that the second subscriber can exactly understand through which trunk he should receive a telephone call, in case that the first subscriber pages the second subscriber after receiving the telephone call. CONSTITUTION: A CPU judges to which subscriber an incoming call is to be destined(301), and controls a ring generator to generate a ring to an associated called subscriber(302). If an arbitrary subscriber receives the telephone call(303), the CPU judges whether a voice announcement for call transfer is being performed(304). In case that the voice announcement for call transfer is being performed, the CPU judges whether the called subscriber receives the telephone call after listening to the voice announcement(305). At this moment, in case that a trunk appointing button having a LED is set on the telephone, the CPU confirms whether the called subscriber pushes the trunk appointing button. If it is judged that the called subscriber pushed the trunk appointing button(306), the CPU controls a switching circuit so that telephone conversation can be carried out between the called subscriber and the caller(311).
