APPARATUS FOR SENSING VEHICLE AND COLLECTING TRAFFIC INFORMATION BY OPTICAL FIBER SENSOR

PURPOSE: A method for sensing a vehicle and collecting a traffic information by an optical fiber sensor is provided to calculate a degree and an interval of a phase change by testing a light in an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: A fiber optic sensor(11) irradiates a flow of vehicle on a road as a phase change of a photo signal. The optical sensor(11) transmits irradiated information to a traffic information center through a wire or wireless communication. A transducer(12) converts information collected by the optical sensor(11) into a data for a traffic center. A local traffic center(13) controls a traffic flow of a predetermined local based on a traffic information irradiated by the optical sensor(11). A local signal controller(14) receives the information from local traffic center(13) and controls it at real time. A central traffic information center(15) receives a traffic information from the local traffic center(13).
