PURPOSE: A hermetic rotary compressor is provided, in which the eccentric unit has a groove formed at the outer periphery of the eccentric portion, to thereby minimize the unbalance caused by the eccentric portion of the rotational axis. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic rotary compressor comprises a closed container(21) forming an outer case; a stator(22) fixed at the inner periphery of the closed container; a rotor(23) having an upper balance weight(23a) and a lower balance weight(23b); a rotational axis(24) compressively fitted to the inner periphery of the rotor and which has an eccentric portion(24a) formed at the lower portion of the rotational axis; a cylinder(27) surrounding the eccentric portion of the rotational axis and which is coupled to an upper bearing(25) and a lower bearing(26) via a bolt(27a); a rolling piston(28) fitted to the eccentric portion of the rotational axis and which rotates contacting the inner periphery of the cylinder; and a vane slidably contacting the outer periphery of the rolling piston so as to divide the interior of the cylinder into a high pressure section and a lower pressure section. The eccentric portion of the rotational axis has a groove(24b) formed at the outer periphery of the eccentric portion.
