摘要 The invention relates to a grilled sponge product made from whole egg, sugar, wheat flour, wheat starch powder and possibly other ingredients as well as to a process for producing grilled sponge products from physically raised sponge batters by baking, slicing and grilling. In order to avoid intermediate cooling and storage of the baked sponge batter, and to permit the production of a wide assortment of grilled sponge products, a sponge batter having a density of 0.35 to 0.6 g/cm<3> is applied flat to a baking tray as a strip of batter having any desired width and thickness, corresponding to the thickness of the intended products, and simultaneously water-absorbing substances or mixtures of substances are applied to the surface. Subsequently the batter is baked for 7 to 12 minutes and, without intermediate cooling, is divided into any desired shapes by slicing, cutting out or other separation processes and then immediately grilled in a known manner.
