PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly antimicrobial fibrous base material by a simple process. SOLUTION: This fibrous base material is such that at least iodophor is supported on a particulate water-insoluble thermoplastic polymer on fiber surface, a 2nd version of this fibrous base material is such that at least povidone iodine is supported using a colloidal silica-conjugated (meth)acrylic resin emulsion on fiber surface, a 3rd version of this fiber base material is such that a modified povidone iodine formed by reaction of iodine with a water-insoluble thermoplastic polymer copolymerized with polyvinylpyrrolidone is supported on fiber surface, and 4th version of this fiber base material is such that at least povidone iodine is supported on synthetic fiber surface subjected to hydrophilicifying treatment. |
