PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery including a negative electrode consisting of hydrogen storage alloy capable of enhancing contact of hydrogen storage alloy pieces of the electrode and of the hydrogen storage alloy and a current collector, improving the solution retaining in the electrode, heightening the battery voltage when discharging with a large current, enhancing the charging-discharging cyclic characteristics, and preventing the internal pressure rise of the battery when it is over-charged. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy electrode 2 containing hydrogen storage alloy and a binder consisting of a copolymer of aromatic vinyl and at least one sort of acrylate ester and methacylate ester, wherein the total content of acrylate ester unit and methacylate ester unit in the copolymer ranges between 43 and 90 wt.%.
