PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize fast plotting by generating and plotting a bit map in the unit of a band on the basis of divided data so as to suppress the increase of the load on a plotting device. SOLUTION: A work station(WS) 10 converts original plotting data into data obtained by extracting the part including data for each band to store it as a conversion data file 11 and a multi-band positional information file 12. A WS 10 transfers the file 12 to a multi-band laser photo plotter 20 and divides information in the file 11 to each band for transfer. An arithmetic processing circuit 24 executes bit map expansion of vector data expressing a single band received from the WS and successively writes it into buffers 25a and 25b. A data writing circuit 25 outputs data in one of the buffers where data transfer from the circuit 24 is completed to a plotting part 27 and during this process, data from the circuit 24 are transferred to the other buffer.
