<p>Permanent rare-earth magnets containing Ce are fabricated with coercivity greater than 4 kOe. One composition for such magnets is [CeyR1-y]z (F1-vBv)1-z, where R is one or more rare-earth elements, F is Fe or Fe-Co, and the relative elemental atomic composition is 0.0 < y ≤ 0.3, 0.04 ≤ z ≤ 0.25, and 0.01 ≤ v ≤ 0.30. Another composition is [(CexLa1-x)yR1-y]z(F1-vBv)1-z, with the relative elemental atomic composition x < 0.4 or 0.9 < x ≤ 1.0 and 0.2 ≤ y ≤ 0.8, 0.04 ≤ z ≤ 0.25, and 0.01 ≤ v ≤ 0.30.</p> |
