PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake force absorbing device most suitable for an article to be base-isolated which is light in weight. SOLUTION: This earthquake force absorbing device is furnished with a base plate 2 fixed on the foundation, a support plate 5 supporting an article to be base-isolated, a first guide plate 3 to move in the X axial direction, a second guide plate 4 to move in the Y axial direction orthogonal with an X axis and fixed on the first guide plate 3, a first guide track 11 provided on the first guide plate 3 in the diagonal direction against the Y axis, a first pressing means 13 to be supported by the base plate 2 and to be pressed by the first guide track 11 and a second pressing means 14 supported by the support plate and to be pressed by the second guide track 12.
