PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a video phone entirely and to reduce the cost of the video phone. SOLUTION: A television receiver 104 is connected to a video phone main body 101 as a display device, a slave set 102 makes a speech while viewing the opposite party displayed on the television receiver 104 through the operation of a remote control slave set 102 remotely controlling the outgoing call/incoming call and a display operation of the video phone main body 101 by means of transmission/reception of a radio wave. The slave set 102 is provided with an optical transmission section 207 that transmits an optical signal. The video phone main body 101 is provided with a camera section 115 that picks up an image of an object in any direction and converts the picked-up video image into video data, an optical sensor 116 that receives the optical signal, and a camera image pickup control section 117 that automatically adjusts the focus so that a user having the slave set 102 in a speech state can be picked up with optimum focus. Thus, the user making a speech with the slave set 102 is automatically picked up with optimum focus. |
