摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new bacterium (variant) which expresses the molecule chaperon derived from a thermophilic bacterium, stably produces L-glutamic acid at a temperature near the upper limit of optimal growth temperature, and can be used for producing L-glutamic acid useful as the main ingredient of a seasoning, etc. SOLUTION: This is a new bacterium [e.g. Corynebacterium glutamicum strain 22337 (pAGC31) FERM BP-6785 or a variant thereof] which expresses the molecule chaperon derived from a thermophilic bacterium, and allows stably producing L-glutamic acid at a temperature near the upper limit of optimal growth temperature or higher, and can be used for stably even at a high temperature producing L-glutamic acid utilized in a large amount as the main ingredient of sodium L-glutamate which is a seasoning, etc. This bacterium is obtained by transducing a vector plasmid containing a gene coding for the molecule chaperon derived from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Pyrococcus sp. strain KOD1 into a L-glutamic acid-producing bacterium.
